		<description>I like your definition of equity, especially the recognition that equity "create[s] conditions" rather than manipulates results.  There have always been some who worry that equity will somehow undermine or replace merit, yet individual merit will in fact come to the fore if we first create a level playing field that allows each person the chance for success.  My "in short" would go something like this -- Equity guarantees opportunity, not results.  People earn the results.</description>
